Home robots: questions to ask before considering one for a household

joannehughes

A video of a robot folding laundry leaves a few questions unanswered. Can it do the task without a remote operator? Is it available to US buyers, or is the company only taking reservations? Those details matter when a family is considering equipment for the home.

I work on Humanoza, an independent robot comparison site. Our home robot guide at https://humanoza.com/humanoid-robots-for-home separates products available to order or reserve from announced models and research platforms. It also flags remote operation and regional availability. A listing there is not evidence that a robot can safely assist someone with limited mobility.

For a household with a caregiver, I would ask the manufacturer about stopping the machine, operation around mobility aids, and who can access its cameras before considering a purchase. Has anyone here asked a supplier these questions and received a useful answer?
